Arthritis inflammation reduced with Acid/Alkaline balance
We are lead to believe that most illnesses are genetic and that there is little we can do about them such as arthritis. I find this a strange statement, if this is the case, why are most chronic diseases many times more prevalent today? If we look at every situation where Native people changed from a ‘traditional type diet’ to a ‘Western type diet’, they begin to suffer diseases that were rare in their traditional societies but common in our societies. This is not genetic inheritance but it is an inheritance of modern eating habits, inheriting a modern way of life and hence the chronic diseases that come with so much suffering from such life styles. If you would like to read more about the traditional societies around the world, their food and how changes to a modern way of eating has increased the incidence of chronic diseases like arthritis dramatically, read Price Weston’s work and books.
Back in 1931 Dr. Otto Warbury received the Nobel Prize for medicine for his work on cancer. His discovery was that all forms of cancer like to thrive in an environment that is acidic and lacks oxygen – acidosis and hypoxia. Many researchers have verified this since, cancer cells love an anaerobic (lack of oxygen) environment where they can reproduce fast. It is important to all aspects of our health that we encourage an alkaline environment, where all our cells are well oxygenated.
Flushing out acidity
Almost all toxins cause acidity. Every cell in the body is reliant on blood for its supply of vital nutrients and for it to remove waste created by our metabolism and from the breakdown of worn out parts. A slightly acidic, polluted blood will not be able to keep our cells well stocked and cleansed. The lymph, if congested will also do a poor job. The lymph, unlike the blood stream, does not have a pump (the heart) that ensures a good flow of blood around our body. The lymph has to rely on muscles and physical movement. The more active we are, the better our lymph will flow. Acidity will interfere with an already vulnerable system as many people lead very sedentary lives. The blood and lymph system, are like the drainage system of our homes, they need to be kept clean and unblocked, at all times. Our drainage system needs to be continually flushed out with cleansing fluids, or we encourage inflammation and pain. It is a vicious circle – we are in pain we move around less than we did before, so our lymphatic system works less efficiently, it becomes congested encouraging inflammation and ultimately more pain and stiffness.
Added to this problem, most people are dehydrated, so they are not getting enough cleansing fluids, that flush out the system. Most people drink too much tea, coffee, and soft drinks, which are acid forming and encourage the kidneys to excrete more fluid, encouraging dehydration. In general most people just don’t drink enough hydrating fluids, to keep themselves pain-free.
